Greetings from the friendly yarn shop located in Culpeper, Virginia just minutes off of Rt. 29 between Warrenton and Charlottesville where you'll find a variety of fine yarns for knitters and crocheters and a nice selection of drop spindles and hand-dyed rovings for the spinning enthusiast. Many of our yarns are well-known favorites from companies such as Plymouth and Cascade, but we also have a large selection of hand-dyed yarns from both local artisans and dyers from across the country. Our goal is to offer a great selection of yarns and fibers, knitting and crocheting patterns, knitting needles and crochet hooks, accessories and notions, drop spindles, books, and even a variety of gifts and jewelry of interest to folks around Virginia who love yarn and the fiber arts. We have new things arriving every week or two so there's always something new to see.

We're easy to find from all directions including Northern Virginia and Warrenton, Fredericksburg, Orange, Charlottesville, and Sperryville. You can choose from craft basics such as Peaches and Creme cotton all the way to luxury yarns like the exquisite Silk Shimmer from Blue Ridge Yarns that is hand-dyed in a neighboring Virginia county. If you're new to our area we can also help you with lunch and other local shopping. Here are a few of the companies we represent:
Notions and More
Plymouth Yarn Company -- We have Encore, Encore Mega, and Galway along with Jelli Beenz, Boku, Kudo, Mushishi, Royal Llama Silk and Royal Llama Linen, Plymouth Tweed, Grass, 24K, Gold Rush, Baby Boutique, Dreambaby DK, sock yarns, and more.
Universal Yarn -- Our latest addition is Poems Silk, a soft and gorgeous multi-colored silk and wool blend. We also have Poems sock yarn and new colors of Cotton Supreme. Other Universal favorites include Spice Berry with its confetti dabs of color, sequined Contessa, Classic Worsted Tweeds and Long Prints, Bella DK Tapestry, Lush Mohair, and Marina.
Stonehedge Fiber Mill -- We carry almost all of the colors of Stonehedge's merino Shepherd's Wool and we visited their mill on one of our trips to Michigan.
Fibra Natura -- Cobblestone and Flax started our Fibra Natura list and we added Aspen, Mermaid, and the merino/silk Heaven. Next we'll add Exquisite Bamboo. Pagewood Farms -- Pagewood hand-dyed yarn is a recent addition and we currently have 1,350 yard skeins of Willow Creek laceweight superwash merino and a basket of St. Elias which is a Blue-Faced Leicester sock yarn.
Blue Ridge Yarns -- We have lots of yarn from this talented Virginia dyer including Silk Shimmer, Shadow Mini, Alpaca Delight Mini, Harmony Mini, Bambie, Jubilee, Kaleidoscope, Kaleidoscope Worsted, Footprints, DK Alpaca Delight, "team colors" sock yarn, and for a limited time Misty Mountain Farm Dizzy Lizzie alpaca sock yarn.
Chameleon Colorworks -- The hand-dyed Bambino is lovely and so are their spinning fibers.
Abstract Fibers -- Colors really pop in Mighty Sock and their simply gorgeous BFL/Silk blend for spinning.
Hazel Knits -- We have expanded our selection of Artisan Sock yarn and also have a great DK superwash merino.
The Schaefer Yarn Company -- We have Anne and will soon be ordering other beautiful Schaefer yarns.
Holiday Yarns - From Holiday we have superwash merino-nylon Flock Sock.
Seacoast Hand-Dyed Yarns - Seacoast's Superwash Sock colors are bright and cheerful, just what you need for spring/summer knitting or crocheting of more than just socks!
Gypsy Knits - The sock bags from Gypsy Knits are a personal favorite of the owner who has used them for several years. And, we have a small selection of Gypsy Knits sock yarns.
JaggerSpun -- Imagine completing an entire fingering weight shawl or other project and only having to weave in the beginning and ending yarn tails! Try a 2,240 yard cone of JaggerSpun's marvelous Maine Line 2/8 wool.

Cascade -- We started with a nice selection of Ecological Wool and Eco+, then added Ultra Pima, Alpaca Lace, Rustic, and Lana Bambu. We also have 128 Chunky Tweed, Heritage Paints and Heritage solid sock yarn, Kid Seta mohair/silk, and Venezia Worsted which is a merino/silk blend. More Cascade Yarns will be coming soon.
Kraemer Yarns - For a true USA company, our Kraemer Yarns are spun in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. We have Summit Hill superwash merino worsted, Perfection acrylic/wool blend, and Tatamy Tweed in DK weight.
South West Trading Company -- We have many TOFUtsies colors for socks and assorted projects.
Unplanned Peacock -- This is another Virginia hand-dye company and we have a basket of their Twisty Aran, some Whisper Sport (alpaca/silk/cashmere), and a nice selection of Diva Sock (merino/cashmere).
Feza Yarns -- From Feza we have the sparkly Jewel and Festival yarns plus some fun colors of Cyprus Mohair.
Swedish Yarns -- While most of our yarns are natural fibers we couldn't resist one special chunky acrylic. Duo comes in generous 378 yard skeins and is a great alternative for anyone sensitive to wools. It makes beautiful scarves, shawls, sweaters, and more.
Kollage Yarns -- We have some eco-friendly yarns from Kollage including Hope Organic Undyed Cotton in DK and Worsted weights and the new Riveting which is made from recycled blue jeans.

Other Yarns -- Sock yarns other than hand-dyes include Sockotta, Sockin' Sox, Happy Feet, Poems, Fancy Socks, Fortissima, Sockina Cotton, Step, Trekking Pro Natura, Trekking XXL, Zauberball Crazy, Zauberball Starke 6, and more. We also have a selection of fun fur/eyelash yarns and have recently added Plymouth Eros II ladder yarn.
Spinning - We have spinning fibers from Chameleon Colorworks, Greenwood Fiberworks and Abstract Fibers plus drop spindles from Kundert, KCL Woods, and DyakCraft. We can also make recommendations of other central Virginia shops where wheels are a specialty.
Gifts - We have a selection of handmade jewelry, small pieces from Emerson Creek Pottery in Bedford, Virginia (we can order whatever you need), cookbooks, and our signature gift ware, the Piedmont Virginia Word Bowl. We'll be adding more gift items from time to time.
